Carpe Diem Tan Renga Challenge #49,

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Another new episode of our Tan Renga Challenge, with an earlier logo as you can see, not because of dislike of the last Tan Renga logo, but more for change ... I hope you don't mind that change. Today I have a wonderful haiku as the first stanza of the Tan Renga for you.
This week I have chosen for a haiku by one of our latest family-members Jazzytower of Thoughts and Entanglements. She wrote this haiku in response on Jane Reichhold's prompt "decay" and I think she has done a great job with that prompt. So here is the first stanza of our new Tan Renga Challenge. Use the images and associations which you can see and find in this first stanza to write the second stanza of this Tan Renga, In the classical way you have to use 7-7 syllables for the two-lined second stanza, but as you know, that's not an obligation. Feel free to use more or less syllables for your second stanza to conclude this Tan Renga.
Tan Renga looks very similar with Tanka, but there is a difference. A Tan Renga is written by two poets and a Tanka by one poet. Tan Renga is a short chained verse with two links.

before the decay
blessed with breathtaking beauty
reclaimed by the earth

Here is my attempt to complete this Tan Renga with the second stanza:

before the decay
blessed with breathtaking beauty
reclaimed by the earth                                         (Jazzytower)

she lost her virginity to a soldier
tears of a geisha - weeping willow                       (Chèvrefeuille)

This second stanza was basically associated on "breathtaking beauty" and in the background I thought of the movie "Memoirs of a geisha".

And now it's up to you to complete or continue the Tan Renga started by Jazzytower. Have fun! Be inspired and share your Tan Renga with us all.

This Tan Renga Challenge is NOW OPEN for your submissions and will remain open until next Friday September 12th at noon (CET).
